Honoring Community Heroes

Every spring the Eugene Parks Foundation hosts the annual Community Hero Awards Dinner to honor inspirational individuals and organizations. This gala event draws together hundreds of involved community members. Previous award winners have included Darryl Larson, Jim Torrey, Oregon Track Club, Ruth Bascom, Friends of Hendricks Park, the Riverloop Connection organizers, State Representative Nancy Nathanson, Rotarian Ray Wiley, and Friends of Buford Park. Led by their example, we are continually inspired to improve our quality of life through parks, recreation, and open space.

2010 Community Hero Awards Dinner

5th Annual Hero Awards Dinner will be held on April 9, 2010 at the Eugene Country Club beginning at 5:30. This year’s honorees are the family of Alton Baker and John Brown. Seating will be limited. Contact Sarah Bascom, planning committee chair, at sarahkbascom@yahoo.com.
